The Australian Copyright Council and the Copyright Society of Australia are
co-hosting a half-day conference on Monday 10 November, 1pm to 5pm, in
Sydney: ŒCopyright & the government¹s innovation agenda¹. The conference
will address some of the issues raised by the recent report to government on
the National Innovation System. It will cover the recommendations in the
report, but also look at the issues in a broader context. The conference
will be followed by a dinner.

Session 1: How should the government manage copyright policy?

* getting the copyright balance right: how far the Copyright Act reflects
the aspirations of the various interests
* should copyright be managed as an economic policy?
